Can you give me some scenarios of when two core democratic values conflict. If you don't know the CDV's then here they are:

Life, Liberty, the pursuit of happiness, Common Good, Justice, Equality, Diversity, Truth, Popular Sovereignty, Patriotism, Rule of Law, Separation of Powers, Representative Government, Checks and Balances, Individual Rights, Freedom of Religion, Federalism, Civilian Control of the Military

This is what we are learning in my school. I didn't pick these as being the core democratic values, these are what I am being taught are the core democratic values of this country. And I personally believe all of these Values are important, and if you don't , then you really are stupid. Why on earth would you disagree with these values? It doesn't make sense.

Who exactly decided what values were the "core values" of a democracy were exactly? Because it looks a lot like you just picked some key words and did it yourself.

The paramount value of democracy as a system of government is the freedom enjoyed by its citizens to elect by whom they would be governed, how they would be governed and what laws they shall have to legislate for the common good. Since democracy doesn't only create rights but also obligations as well,it is the obligation of every democratic citizen to defend the freedom he so freely enjoys by answering the call of his country and enlist in its armed forces;failure to do that in time of war is punishable by death.

electoral college could technically infrindge on "Popular Soverignty" ....we also value security (justice which is subjective) and can be saught at the price of liberty ie: wiretapping, warrentless searches...etc...all of which infrindge on the bill of rights...separation of powers is questionable when the president and senate elect supreme court justices...freedom of religion...(pledge of allegence and swearing in on a bible)...trickle down economics is a blantant violation of the common good

Democratic Core Values? The left wing, including most Democrats (not all) only believe in those things if they think it will get them elected or re-elected. Lieberman of Connecticut is a good example of an exception). They do not think Republicans have a right to those things--only people that talk and act like they do. That's your conflict--Dems believe ONLY in what is good for them and those who will not speak out against them or hold them responsible for anything, like the "drive by" media, especially stations like CNN--aptly named the CLINTON News Network.
