How can you feed cheese to a rattlesnake without getting hurt?

The snake is fat, but agile. I have reason to believe he really likes cheese, but you know...I don't want to get hurt in my effort to bless the animals. Would you use American or Swiss?

Intravenously, while the snake is anaesthetised. That's how I always do it.
