should have never ended the draft in my opinion
and Iraq wasn't invaded.
we let Iraq continue as is if Saddam disarmed and follow the conditions set forth in the surrender agreement after he invaded Kuwait..
gave him 10 years of chances and he refused to do it...so we spanked his azz

Yep..

Most people don't have any idea how a draft works.

Since all the soldiers in the military are all volunteers now.

Even with a draft, they would still be in the military.

And a draft, only drafts enough people to meet the Congressionaly set End Strength numbers for the military, after the volunteers.

So since we have 100% of the goal with volunteers.

No one would actually be drafted.

Even during Vietnam, with a huge military, only 10% of the eligible males were drafted.

And only 30% of those who served in vietnam were draftee's.

probably not because drafting is and always has been a democrat thing, Republicans don't favor the draft. So if the U.S. had the draft it would mean a democrat was in charge. (if you remember Kerry even said he wanted "required national service".)
And if that was true, though they voted for the war they apparently wouldn't have went to war or would have given up already.

All this is pure speculation. Hindsight is of little value. Too many what ifs. Do you think that WWII went smoothly? There were a number of occasions when we could have lost it.
