I love some of your answers! One asked if i was named after a family member. I am named after my aunt! But i have a ridiculous nick name! I is Dottie!

I was named after a celebrity not a family member. My dad was into Joe Namath, as were a lot of people in 1970. My middle name is Jo (minus the "e"). I'm quite proud of it.

No. By the time I was born I was just named. I am the only one of 8 kids in the family that wasn't named after anyone else, but my father was not allowed any input on it. -s

I have an Aunt with the same name but my
mother swore she didn't name me after her,

I was named after my aunt. I hate my middle name though it means a lot that my parents would name me after her. she died in a car wreck 21 years ago when she was 18, so the name is very meaningful even though i really don't like it.

Nope, and I am so glad. My brother (bless his heart) is named after his grandfather. Willard Hyrm. Isn't that sad. My mother was named Modeania. They called her Dean. Now that she is gone, I kinda like it, but when I was younger, I died everytime she had to tell everyone. Believe it or not I have run across two other people with that name.

Although that's not my actual name, it's pretty darn close. Don't get me wrong, people tell me how pretty my name is all the time. But how cool do you think it was to tell people I was named after some 60 year old actor? So basically I would lie & tell them my mom made it up.

Yes, my 2 year old cousin drowned a couple of weeks before I was born, my aunt asked to change my name to hers after I was born....and as I grew apparently I was her splitting image
