we found our snake by sprinkling flour in the doorways at night and putting food out for it. watch the trails and you can at least find out what room its in and maybe exactly where. may not work until hes hungry though.

Yeah Id go down the flour route, try and track it down. Also check behind household appliances, some are found behind frudges as it is warm there. Try and think of an other warm places it may have headed for. You may even want to set up some sort of warm attractive place incase it comes out for a wander looking for somewhere to hide.

Best time to search for the snake will be a night when it would be active too.

Good luck! Hope you find it.

Set damp towels in strategic locations along walls. The snake will probably be dehydrated, and you should find it hiding under a towel within a few days- if it's still inside the house.
Baiting it with food will probably not work.
You should but a real snake cage- aquariums with removable tops are not escape proof, as you've found.

We had a snake get lost in our house and we looked for weeks! We cut all the bottom fabric off of our couches and everything. Then when we didn't find him for several months we assumed he was dead, then about 5 months later we found him in the same room we thought he got out of! I hope that he turns up. You can't really use food as bait if you feed him mice... so good luck :)

Try turning down the thermostat for a few days and set up a heatlamp or other heat source for it and check it often.

if you are going to try to bait it (if it is small it might work) use a very big trash can (55 gal or larger) and put your snakes preferred food in the bottom of it if the can is big enough it wont be able to get out.

In the meantime, plug all of your drains, do your best to block your exterior doors with towels or draft stoppers.

Good Luck!

Go to www.cornsnake.com and search the forums for how to find an escaped snake...there's lots of tips. They can hide in the smallest of places--even in plain view. Keep looking.

put scotch tape upside down EVERYWHERE! he'll get stuck in it and won't go anywhere so be sure to check the tape frequently. mine was gone for only five days, but i used the tape and he showed up. put the tape in corners and by the molding on the floor.
if that doesnt work, set up a trap. put a pinkie in a plastic bottle but cover the mouth hole so it big enough for mr snakey to get in, but small enough to get out when he gets fat from the pinkie.
hope you find it.
