Utopias are places basically like paradise, I've never heard atlantis being called one. mainly because it's underwater and possibly non-existent. Anywho, food is plentiful, crime is low, people are happy in a utopia.

I don't think Atlantis was ever considered a utopia. I don't know much about Atlantis...so I couldn't tell you what I think. But from my studies of utopian societies all of them share a common thread. That is majority rules. If one person suffers, its okay so long as everyone else is happy.

Atlantis is generally seen as a myth created by Plato to illustrate his political theories.

Atlantis is a myth. And like all such things people will project whatever they want on it. Utopia is an impossibility. To a muslim it is completely different than a democracy. It requires a mindset that is not common in humans today. Atlantis is a myth of the past. Utopia is a myth of the future.

Atlantis was a great civilization in the North Atlantic supposedly it was like America enlightened nation. Gifted, scientific minded and enterprising people. They were origianlly peace loving people but later divided into two factions,,the fatherhood of God & the brotherhood of man...they were highly advanced people but they destroyed themselves.. This is the warning of these people...
