I'd love to help, but I have lots of questions. If you can answer them, it will help me or someone else answer your question.

Did it ever work? Have you got any sound at all? Does the volume knob on the speaker work? If you plug headphones in, do they work?

Have you done any software installations or upgrades lately? Has anyone been inside the box lately?

in the toolbar, there is a little box with the time and date, and a pullout thing with a bunch of little icons. double-click on the speaker icon and it will open a window called master volume. at the bottom, there is a check box labeled mute all. if that is checked, uncheck it, and the volume should work. if that is not the problem, your speakers may be unplugged, or plugged into the wrong socket. try reconnecting the speakers
