I'm a huge Zeppelin fan, but i just find this song alright. I don't know why people put it up as this incredible song that changes your entire life after you hear it. And the solo is kinda good but no the best. I think "Achilles' Last Stand" is Led Zeppelin's best song.

l like the song but don't find it life altering. I think when it first came out it was different from other songs.

Yes, I do agree. I love Led Zeppelin, but they have so many more songs that totally blow away Stairway to Heaven, both with sound and lyrics.
I'm not sure what My #1 is, but Achilles Last Stand is definitely better than Stairway to Heaven.

Only because radio beat it to death back in the 80s & now the songs become a joke.
Wasn't Zepp's fault. Blame radio.
It's actually a superb song. Great build-up, great solo, great feel.
Just that most people who grew up hearing it are tired of it. Sad, really. At this point, I only like hearing it maybe once or twice a year.
