I would say no. She has a staff filled with people of different races, she has one of the most successful white men on TV in her employ, Dr. Phil. I think people find her to be racist because she is proud of her culture and race and tries to do things to uplift others who are of her race.

I can't get upset about it. She seems to be saying this: Her grandmother's greatest wish was that Oprah find a wealthy white family to work for. In those days, the best job a black person could hope for was being a cook or housekeeper... Now Oprah's own ambition has helped create a world where black people can rise to the very highest levels of society. Instead of keeping house and cooking for white folks, she has white folks keeping her house and cooking for her. That's an accomplishment her grandmother could never have imagined.

whoa, that's crazy
now, didn't she help Dr. Phil and Martha Stewart take off on their careers, and look at her books that she recommend you read and those people are best sellers due to Oprah, so i really don't get the point of the hate for her, every time i turn on the TV to watch her she's dealing with white people issues. So if she's helping mostly white people with their own TV shows, how can she be racist, that don't ad up

Of course she's going to help black people, why wouldn't she, she's black. Of course she's going to support a black presidential candidate - this is a HUGE opportunity for African Americans. Why would I expect her to do otherwise? She is hugely powerful and influential - she uses that to her advantage.

I'm not an Oprah fan. But I do admire her hard work and determination to get to where she is today. And, frankly, I doubt very seriously she cares what anybody says about her.

No, I do not think a person trying to make life easier for their own kind can be called racist. Only those who try to take advantage of a minority are racist.

No, she is out of the closet now. Out of all the presidential candidates, she just happens to choose to back Barak Hussein Obama. This couldn't be because he is black could it? And you wonder if she is a racist????

According to a buddy of mine who used to work on her show doing makeup, she's quite open about it. She made it very well known on the set that she preferred black folks over white or any other folks.
