Dad is x + 28 years
x + x + 28 = 64
2x = 36
x = 18
Darian is 18 years old.

Let D = Darian's dad and S = son (Darian)
D = S + 28
D + S = 64
Plug the first guy into the second guy
(S + 28) + S = 64
2S + 28 = 64
2S = 36
S = 18
The son (Darian) is eighteen
