She called him "virtually impotent" in a news conference. What's the betting there will be a major reprisal because of her comment?

I really hope you're wrong. I hate trying to explain to my 10yr old son why people crash planes into skyscrapers or blow themselves up at checkpoints. I want to expplain why the sky is blue and how spiders catch their food or how deep the deepest mines are. trying to explain death in those circumstances is not a lesson I care to teach anymore.

Fran is kind of a 'hottie' - wonder how she knows about binLaden's impotency???
All kidding aside, you're absolutely right: it's sheer stupidity for our government to taunt someone who it considers to be a mentally unstable, loose-cannon lunatic.
All it does is fall right into binLaden's trap. He gets more 'free publicity', more exposure, and all that does is help to instill fear in the American people. If the government were to simply ignore binLaden's videotapes, he'd stop making them.
Even George W. Bush public admitted shortly after all the emotional hub-bub over 9-11 died down that he didn't know - or care - where binLaden was; that binLaden was "no longer a priority".
So, pouring over binLaden's latest "p.r." stunt - and then publicly taunting him - is, indeed, the epitome of stupidity - just one more illustration of how incompetent the Bush administration and its 'crack' Department of Homeland Security really is; if another 'terrorist' attack ensues, it will be for one of two reasons:
1. Fran's innuendos and acrimonious jeering pissed binLaden off and he decided to retaliate;
2. The Bush administration has another 'terrorist attack' already planned on U.S. soil, and it's using this event as its 'cause'. -RKO- 09/09/07

On the other hand, do you really believe that an apology, kissing his feet, will make him love America? I don't like the Bush Administration any more than you appear to, but that doesn't mean that everything they do is stupid and worthy of criticism.

Bin Laden will attack the United States whatever we do. He and Al-Qaeda already hate the U.S. with a passion, and are committed to attacking us at every opportunity whatever we say or do. Nothing we do, short of killing them, will influence them.

However, he personally can't carry out any attack, only plan them. Our real concern should be the millions of potential terrorists we can influence either to hate or love America through our other actions. We should be focusing on that.

I agree with you, this was an incredibly stupid remark from the white house. If for no other reason we need to remember how the Arab world looks at women, which is as second class citizens. Her making this comment hit him right "below the belt." It was the highest form of insult to any Arab man coming from a woman that is.
Nothing like throwing more coal on the fire!!

Bush said "the video reminds us how dangerous the world is"

I say tthe video reminds me how he has failed to deal with Bin Laden and Al quaida and in the process made the world less safe for everyone.... from Iraq citizens to Bali Holiday makes to Scottish airport workers.

mhe is probably right. Bin Laden cannot make love he only likes to kill.men, women and children He cares not which or how many. This excuse for a man has an unsatisfiable appetite for blood. One day I think and hope that's its his own blood he can drink before he dies.

Well, if it's not Bin Laden then it would only be somebody else. The US do like to walk round with their feet in their mouths.

Only time will tell

So we should give up our free speech because we are scared of what people will do to us if they disagree with what we say?
Its because of people like you that Hitler, Stalin, Sadam et al managed to do what they did.
