I met my filipina wife on the internet in 2004. I dropped everything to go there and meet her. When I got there, it was like a match made in heaven. Of course we talked plenty on the phone and on line before I made that big step. I stayed there for about 6 months my first visit when I had intended to stay only a couple weeks. We got married there. It's a different kind of place and the people and culture take a little getting used to but I love it there. It took 2 years to get her visa to USA and I made another 5 trips there during that time. There are many many Americans, Brits, Aussies, and Kiwi's there and you'll find them. I don't regret anything about it. We can't wait to go back there for visit and eventually retire there. You will need to depend on your friend to help you avoid the bad element there. If she really cares about you she won't let you get taken advantage of. Realize also that their families are closer than typical American families in that they have a sense of duty to help each other out financially. Be prepared for that and have patience. You will be treated like a king.

if you've already developed a good and honest relationship with her and trust her enough, then why don't you go for a visit? My boyfriend have yet to visit the Philippines with me, but based on what he sees on TV shows and based on my stories, he's sooo excited to go.. The Philippines has a lot to offer you if you have an open-mind and a positive attitude. We like fun people who are willing to try a lot of things!

Just an advice though, do make sure of her trustworthiness coz we wouldn't want you to fall into any scam-related issue.. And if you do decide to go, hopefully you'll love the Philippines as much as we all do! ☺

Knowledge is power! You need to educate yourself about the culture, traditions etc..Visiting the Philippines is a nice experience even if you going just as a tourist. Knowing that you have met someone who is welcoming you in her country to visit is another added bonus,so,get to know her, get to know the Philippines, go for it!
One thing is for you to know, don't make any promises to that girl if you can't fore fill them, no playing games and just be honest. Some Filipinos tend to open there heart and give you that trust, so don't abuse it please.
Just remember that you might get hooked on that beautiful county.
Go for it and best of luck to you!

i say go for it. but do not go to just see her. have fun. do so in a smart and respectful way but it is a blast over there. i flew in at 6am and was in bar at 630 am drinking SML and picking up girls. in fact i had a girl try to pick me up when i was walking to the bar (LA cafe). i advise you to take protection with you as the quailty over there is sometimes less than ideal at times. i was there for two weeks and am planning a return trip early next year. but if you go remember be respectful. you are visitor there and need to keep that in mind. do not start truoble and you have no trouble. i walked around by myself for the most part the entire two weeks. i did meet a girl on the internet and that was the cause for my trip over there but had more fun just meeting ppl.

I can't think of any reason not to go. It's rainy/typhoon season now so the weather is not as nice as it is in Dry season (Mid November through mid June). I live in the Visayas (middle) and we usally get a morning shower for a couple of hours and another one in the evenings, but it's not like it's constantly raining. There are many nice places over here and despite all the Embassy warnings I believe 90% of the Philippines is perfectly safe.

I like to live my life with few regrets. I woundln't want to wonder later on in life "what if" you came here ? My vote is to go for it. :) Enjoy your trip.

If you have been writing her alot and she is suggesting a visit, go for one and find out. That way you can find out if you like her as well as her country. My brother did that and is now living in England with his english wife whom he met on the internet. They have 3 girls and a son now. He comes back to America to keep his citizenship current and visit all of us.

That is not for us to decide, but for you.

Do you like the girl?
Do you want a relationship with her?
Are you ready to take it "to the next level."

If the answers to these questions are yes then think about it.
