The others are correct that it is the detergent that dulls and fades the colors in clothing. The best thing you can do is to use a detergent that is marked "colorfast" or lists an added ingrediant that helps colors retain their brightness.
Many such detergents are readily available.

While it's true that certain types of detergents can fade garments (especially the ones with bleach additives), dryers can also fade clothes....which is why I stopped using one years ago. I line dry my clothes and the colors are as bright as the day we bought them, even after several years.
It's the extreme heat that causes fading ~ try using the lowest heat setting and pulling the clothes out as soon as possible.

I never knew that the dryer faded clothes. I always assumed that it was the detergent and the hot water that did it.
You can turn the heat down on the dryer and run it longer, this will help more with not shrinking the material and that is just as important.
That's what my wife does.
good luck.

Turn your clothes wrong side out and wash them with a non bleach detergent. If they are dark, use either Cheer Dark or Woolite Dark. I like Cheer Dark...it's cheaper for more detergent. Use cold water. Then put your dryer on lower heat and, if possible, take it out before it's over dry.
My son wears black Dickies pants. He has a pair that is 2 years old and looks just as good as his newer ones!
I also have noticed a huge difference in my front loading washer vs. my old top loading. I love the front loading...cleans much better.

Ur dryer isn't fading ur clothes; the detergent ur using is. Try turning them inside out, and/or using cold water.

Try not to dry them to death and it could be that your laundry detergent is to harsh and is fading your clothes in the washing
machine too.
