...here is some good news, for us "Song of the South" fans; looks like they're getting serious in finally getting this one out on DVD, perhaps next year...

If it is released , more than likely, it won't be available in the USA. Because of its' content and the reference to racial stereotyping, Song of the South, is a Disney film that has received much criticism.

Hard to say. It's a shame that political correctness would prevent the public from seeing a truly hilarious film. It's been many years since I've seen it, and I don't know how offensive the stereotypes are. Or are they just characters from a particular time in history, and thereby, not stereotypes at all?

No, they won't. My dad found a few bootlegs on DVD somewhere and the quality's not great, but at least my kids get to watch a movie I loved as a child.
The only way to get Disney to listen to the people on this one would be if a major African-American/Black rights group supported it. Or maybe we could get a petition going...
