I am a no budget student filmmaker, and in one of my scenes, my "boyfriend" cuts my cheek. I need to make it so when the knife goes through the fake skin it will bleed. How do I do that?

I already have latex and I can make fake blood easily, I just don't know how to combined them.

Maybe try to make a "pocket" of the latex around the blood, so he can cut the latex open and the blood flows out. Practice a lot so he aims properly, or make the latex thin so it can be cut with a dull knife.

In the movies and theaters it's done with a fake knife that holds the fake blood. When the blade part is put to the skin it releases the fake blood.

Another trick is to put a red line on the face and hold the knife at a slight angel to cover up the line. Then with a close up shot, move the knife across the line so you are uncovering the line. Then you do a cut away (heh a pun) and have that line already bleeding.
