www.doverpublications.com has all copyright-free materials. They'll send you a sampler once a week by email if you ask. When I'm doing book reviews for my blog, I download a picture of the cover of the book, since I bought most of them from Dover.

I found a great many photos I love in Wikipedia's collection, especially historical ones.

For text, and sometimes for drawings, I like the Gutenberg Project, but I don't remember the actual address right now. It's a favorite on my other account. (I'm schizo: Answers on one account; 360 on the other.)

Also, when I'm doing movie reviews from my DVD collection, I download a picture of the cover from Columbia House DVD Club. That's where I bought a substantial number of them. If they don't have the one I want, I try Wikipedia second.
