They are actually kind of the same thing. The 'accepted' guideline is that a belief that is currently organized and active would constitute a religion (theology) and all other beliefs lie under myth (mythology). In practice though, mythology is what a religious person calls all other beliefs.

Well, you disqualified me from answering but oh well (you asked a historical question and the historical method requires one to look at something both Objectively and Subjectively from the period in which it occured).
Never; Theology and Mythology are different enough topics that one never becomes the other. Greek theology is still theology, despite the fact their beliefs are largely relegated to the status of myths.
Theology refers to how a people look at their deities and the divine in general. Theology can no more become mythology than sociology or philosophy.

Theology is the study of the nature of Gods and religious truth, as well as rational inquiry into religious questions. To study religious Myths is to work at theology. One is a noun, while the other is a verb, and they work together to make a full idea. In doing so it becomes plain that theology cannot become Mythology. It is those who hold majorities that change religions into myths not those versed in working at Theology.

Personally both are the same. The only difference is that people still practice religion and therefore is not yet considered a mythology.
After all people believed that Zeus was real as well as Poseidon in ancient times. Hopefully people will wake up and realize that religion is an ancient and should not be followed and be done away with just like believing in Zeus or Poseidon

If one is a theist, never. If one is an atheist, it already is mythology. By the way, your first sentence is neither sweet nor simple. It is a perfect example of a non-sequitur.

It's theology if it's your religion.
If it's somebody else's religion, it's mythology.
Or heresy or blasphemy, if you want to be mean about it.
