Lately I've been having problems with my digestive system. I always feel bloated and gassy and rarely have a strong appetite. I'll get really nauseous a couple of days then just back to feeling bloated, gassy, and sick. Sometimes I'll get diarrhea, other times I'm lucky to go at all. At first I thought it could have been milk 'cause I'd only get sick after drinking milk. Now, it's more prolonged, so I don't think it's lactose intoloerance. So I've been considering fiber, probiotics like acidophilus, and maybe even trying that danactive yougurt challenge?

Anyone else have any thoughts/suggestions?

Ok...there are a lot of good suggestions so far. The milk thing seemed to start it all a few weeks ago. When I was younger, I would get sick when I would drink whole milk. So I'm going to try cutting out all milk in my diet.

I've also been under a lot of stress lately. I graduated from college in may and now live with my mom and her boyfriend who fight constantly. At school I would walk everywhere and ate fairly healthy. Because I'm living at home and have no job, I don't get much say in what groceries are kept in the house. She loves all the unhealthy stuff and thinks healthy food is pointless. (At school, I ate a lot of whole grains, soy protein, and fruits and veggies. Here, I'm lucky if she lettuce.)

So with the added stress of them fighting, diet changes, and the reduced activity levels, could this be the cause of my problems? Any recommendations for stuff that would help?

(Sorry if it's a dumb question)

Well if milk caused it, maybe try cutting out all dairy for a while and see how it goes. And it could be your diet, like if you eat greasy foods, and processed flours. Beans maybe? When I had a dairy problem, which I still do, I would sometimes get this, but now that I eat tiny amounts of dairy if any, I don't get it at all. Just experiment with that thought. Also try maybe some yoga to loosen up your hip area, and improve digestive flow

Probiotics and the Danactive yogurt challenge are a) redundant, b) and not a good idea if there's any possibility you ARE lactose intolerant (which can manifest as alternating constipation and diarrhea, amongst other symptoms...) I would add at least a bifidus and bulgaricus combination to your probiotic supplement, and yes, it is possible to buy them in a combined form already so you don't have to go about buying 3 or more things. Look also at adding a combination digestive enzyme tablet. You don't give your age, but it is not uncommon for guts to go bad on people as they age. Look also at following a rotation diet so you're not eating the same things all the time, and look at possibly doing an intestinal cleanse or course of high colonics to set your tummy straight. Sometimes loads of crap just builds up and one needs to look at cleansing and fasting in order to "clean house" and begin again.

If the problem IS with your gall bladder, and a good chiropractor, kinesiologist or acupuncturist can tell you that in about 2 minutes, add loads of lemon and lime to your diet, like the juice of a half or an entire lemon in water to start your day and before each meal. Cut out all heavy animal fats--eggs, any whole milk product, all meats for awhile, especially the fatty ones like beef and pork--and put lots of greens, fruits, veggies and salad into your diet, concentrating heavily on things like radishes, kohlrabi, daikon, turnips, watercress, rutabagas, ginger and pickled ginger, wasabi, horseradish and cayenne peppers. These will all tonify and help to heal a gall bladder condition. Use lots and lots of citrus as well. And speak to a wholistic practitioner/naturopath about natural cures for gall bladder disfunctions.

Try Mona Vie. This is a mixture of 100% pure fruit juices with Acai being the primary ingredient. It is a great remedy for digestive health. It is a bit pricey but worth every penny. Just buy one bottle and drink it for a week to level you off. If you don't want to spend so much, try ORGANIC yogurt. Get plain-without the extra sugar-and add fruit to it yourself. Berries are best if you need more sweetness, add vanilla as well.

Sounds like a lot of potential food sensitivies here combined with stress.
I have had to eliminate glutens (wheat and processed foods) as well as hard cheeses from my diet, you may have to do a little experimenting on yourself to figure out what foods might be triggering these symptoms for you. Perhaps do an extremely healthy diet, no glutens or dairy, and then after you've cleaned up for a while add dairy or gluten in to see the reaction?
Also hope you get out on your own soon to avoid the stress of your mother and her boyfriend.
Good luck!

Try a fibre/green supplements first thing in the morning. Make sure you drink plenty of water or fluids throughout the day.

Have a digestive enzyme, 3/day - half an hour before each meal.

You can switch to rice milk. And also after every meal have some papaya enzyme. Or fresh pineapple. This will help with your digestion. I had the same problem.

Chlorophyll is very good for the digestive system because it activates the digestive enzymes.

Bromelain is also very good and you find it in the core of pineapple.
