it just depends on what you want it for. if you want to x-fer large amounts of data back and forth to different computers (comes in handy), or just as a backup? or, if you need extra storage space (for say games), etc. my main computer has 2 h/d's, and i've got 2 external drives (80 gbyte, and a 250 gbyte). i'm actually drooling about getting a 1 terabyte, but that will come in time. g/l, sos

The external is slower, but can be used as a backup. It can be stored in a secured place, off the property as in a safe deposit box.

The internal one will be faster.

internal one because many reasons ..faster ,you can use it to boot your pc if anything goes worng ..cheaper , less noise ..

external u can carry it around ,easy to fix , backup files
