I think the point the teacher wants to discuss, if legalization of prostitation in africa would have an effect on the AIDS epidemic and the poverty situation of many women.

So your pro point would be that legalization would put sex workers in controlled condition and so slow the spread of Aids. and that it may help women who have no other income (whom are now forced to prostitution by poverty in unsafe conditions) work in a safe condition.

your against points would be that this will increase the chance of spreading AIDS because you can't put real control for that in africa. also you can say that the legalization would give organized crime a legal cover to exploit women

The pro side will argue that this is a victimless crime, however, nothing could be further from the truth. It's well documented on the Internet how women throughout the world and forced like slaves into sex work.

There are also many documented cases in the United States. Women are imported who speak little English and are forced to pay off their debt to owners of "massage parlors" who tightly restrict and intemidate their captives.

Until the problem of sex slavery is resolved, prostitution should not be made legal anywhere.

Why Africa? Why not the world over? I fully believe in legalizing prostitution.
