My wife is going to school for her LTA and had to do a report on how helpful the people at the library were. They were not helpful. One guy even looked at her like he was pissed for asking if he knew anybody there who had an LTA.

Now for my story about a library experience:
I was checking out a book and the woman behind the counter was like "Anthony Spears!! Oh my God!! Do you remember me from the Adopt-a-block? You must've been about 5 years old!! You loved to pick up garbage and we did it every week!" She wanted to sign me up for the new adopt-a-block she was starting, and she was REAALLLY excited to see me and I had no idea what she was talking about. I was never part of adopt-a-block. I didn't know it at the time, but it was my brother who she was remembering.

One nice late-autumn afternoon I had to do research for a report. I checked out some books and walked out the door. But it was such a gorgeous day that I couldn't handle the thought of being cooped up inside while digging though these texts.

The library was right next to a park with lots of shady trees and a large pond. I grabbed a blanket out of the trunk and made myself comfortable under a tree near the library's parking lot. I was scanning the books and taking notes for about 20 minutes when a library rent-a-cop tried to run me off. The dolt thought I was homeless!

Yeah... our public library is great. But, my best library story is from when I was a teen. I was at the library and I saw my sweetie in another section so I snuck up behind him and was about to kiss him when the guy turned around and surprise! It wasn't my guy. I almost died! I'm pretty sure the guy knew what I'd been about to do. I swear from the back he looked identical, he even had the same jacket! lol thanks... =-)

Yes they were very helpful and they knew what they were doing...well, except me of course because I was doing volunteer hours there and had no idea what I was supposed to do until an official library worker came over and told me what to do

Ha! I had to help myself. Once I went looking for a particular book, I was little then, and the librarian told me to look through the card files. Well, I did, but do you think I found the book where the card said it was? And do you think she came to help me?

Now when I go to the library I don't even bother to ask for help.

I go to the library all the time. I usually don't ask alot of questions, but when I do most of the staff know the answers.

The last time I went to get a library card, they wanted way too much information, like my ss#, bank information!! What for??!!! I don't want my info just floating around out there, so I didn't apply for a card afterall.~~~~~
