I'm trying to figure out how to attach a tachometer to my 2002 2 stroke 9.9 outboard ( 2 cyl) to gauge propeller pitch. anyone know how the heck to do that?

if it's electric start, find the rectifier. the gray wire off it is the sender wire for the tach. if not, you will need a shop tach of some kind.

I don't know if there is a tack lead unless it electric start with a harness> Go by sound an power if it a dog taking off than to much pitch>The prop they come with usually lets the Engine slip enough to reach Max Rpm>
