In other words can I install Sun Solaris 10 on a Windows XP machine so that I can boot with which ever OS I want (i.e. either WinXP or Sun Solaris)?

What you meant to ask was is the Windows XP boot manager compatable - Im not 100% sure, but the Windows XP boot manager is VERY configurable, and thats only saying if you don't use Soaris's boot manager instead. Google boot.ini for more info on XP's boot manager.

I recommend Linux Mint than Ubuntu 10.4. Because it is a customized version with mp3 playing facility, GIMP etc. In respect of Ubuntu Lucid Lynx, u have to install them additionally. You may use F Drive with 16 GB for this. If you feel this partition is large, you can reduce to 5 or 6 GB. 64 bit is operational well, only if your computer has a RAM of 4 GB or more. Gud Luck!!!

The Windows version of Solaris will do what you want. Just create a separate partition for it.

u can dual boot anything

u should just go to craigslist.com and the computer and find an older 40gb hard drive
