If I moaned at my staff they would walk - I have a team of eleven and they are the best in the world - well after Pompey Football Club. Moaning gets no one anywhere - I lead by example and have high expectations. My team really are amazing they are adaptable, keen, loyal and know how to enjoy themselves. We work hard and we play hard

Lick your staff into shape? What shape do you want? I do a nice line in famous landmarks, e.g. the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Angel of the North, Nelson's Column .....

Motivational meetings and incentives work really well. If you treat them like adults and give them challenging responsibilities, they behave mature and act responsible and if they don't, the best way to get results are official warnings, verbal or written. Never moan... it's annoying to the employee and they don't take you serious and don't respect you. You are the heartbeat of your team and you need results.
