I have been out of the country for almost 8 years. I came back last summer but only this summer I found out my sister has my SSN and is using it. I'm afraid she has done something illegal in my name because I found out I'm listed at her address one month after my 18th birthday. When I confronted her she went nuts I guess because I found out. I went on to SSN.gov to get my statement and they said that the information I gave was not correct when thats my information. I don't know what she has done and I am scared to death. Even when I tried to get my annual credit report it says I took it when I didn't.
I have told my father of the situation and he is taking it lightly. oh and blaming me how can this be my fualt? I was a kid who was sent to school over seas. All my documents was with my mother not me. My sister stole them when my mother passed away. I asked her about them and she said she didn't see them but she was lieing. oh my god god help me I could go to jail for something I haven't done! I have never done anything against the law. I always follow the law

You need to file a police report for identity theft. If you are not willing to do that, there is NOTHING you can do. EVERY remedy available requires a police report as the first step.

I agree with the first person who posted. You need to file a police report. Some people do not want to file charges against relatives when they commit crimes against them. You need to do something about this ASAP, forget about the fact that you are related to her. You need to clear your name and credit.
