Im a new person on this system, I made a picture from avatar, posted it and asked If anyone could see it, and basically wanted to know if it was going to work. The next thing I know is I got a violation notice. I don't understand. What did I do?

There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the violation notices.
I'm just surprised, when I don't receive one. The Y!A bunch don't seem to know the reason either. They just say to read their guidelines.
What was the picture you made from avatar and how offensive was it?

You'll never find out even you contact Y/A. They never, as far as I know, answer questions with specifics.

I have had only a few violations. One, when I reread it, I realized was not a proper answer. The others I didn't so requested info from Y/A and all I received was an electronic form letter.

But yet, people can ask some of the most outrageous and tasteless questions. Go figure?

The abuse reporting system is largely automated. Asking for an explanation usually just results in an automated response. I have received 3 or 4 violations since I joined sometime in 2006. I just ignore them.

Sounds like they thought you were chatting. That is not allowed and would get you a violation notice. If you disagree then you should click on the link in the email from Yahoo and state your opinion clearly.

You did nothing wrong, it was probably just some report-happy troll.

If you ever get a violation notice, and you feel it is unfair, then simply respond back to Yahoo! and you just may get your points back (maybe).

This has happened to me also. Don't fret too much about people like that- just ignore them and have fun! ;o)

Welcome to Yahoo! Answers and good luck with all the trolls!

I think I got reported once because someone disagreed with my (political) opinion. It's not much to fret about but you won't get any vindication from YA. You can report anyone for anything and they don't check. They just violate you. Sucks but it isn't that imjportant!
