I saw a name I really liked and I was hoping for some feedback on it....I am not into common names at all (ie-john, andrew, matthew, etc.) and I was wondering what people thought about it...

The name I saw was "Gideon" and yes, I know how to pronounce, it, LOL, although I had to ask first, LMFAO.

Its so unusual. I really like it. What do you guys think?

I sort of like the biblical reference...I am not hebrew though....as for a nickname, my name is Nicole and for some reason, people call me Blue....which has absolutle nothing to do with my name, LOL.

Though not a name you hear often, I find it refreshing that someone out there can actually think for themselves .

The name Gideon means "Destroyer" or "Mighty warrior" and is referenced in the King James Bible.

One of the main characters on the TV show "Criminal Minds" is named Gideon --Apropos

Gideon is a good first or middle name - So it will depend on which way you wish to use it.

Different without being too bizarre. There was a MTV news reporter named Gideon.

I think it's a great name! I haven't really heard of that many Gideon's so in my opinion it's pretty unique for a name.

It reminds me of the Bibles that are left in hotels.

It's different.

I don't hate it, I don't love it.

But, if YOU like it, that's all that is important! Good luck!

I think it is too old fashioned. It was common in the 1800's. And you know that people call their friend's by nicknames. What would his friends call him? Gid? No, I don't like it. Sorry to be so forthright.
