Do what your heart says and if it doesn't work out after a couple years then go back to school. Now days people live for ever so the difference in retiring at 60 or 65 isn't that big of a deal. Just don't be asking "what if" when your older.
Also, maybe shadow a pediatrician and see what you think. I used to think i wanted to go into pediatrics, but i realized how hard it is to see innocent kids suffer. Job shadowing is a great way to make a decision. Plus, your only a sophomore, you've got plenty of time.

If you are not good at math and science. Being a doctor may not be the right choice for you. Be realistic. If you want to be a doctor than you had better start studying very hard to be better at math and science. And, if you want to be a journalist. Look into which colleges have a good program and look at the courses you will be taking. I wouldn't narrow it down to just working for the Yankees. That would be a good dream. But, remember you may end up doing something completely different. Good Luck.

Well, I don't know much about college. But I picked up bits of knowledge about it thanks to my big bro. If you want to be a pediatrician, or a doctor of some forms, get ready to face school for many years. There's also a bunch of stuff you will have to earn, (I think) such as you M.D. or PHD. (I have no idea what that means though. You might want to research it.) If your heart says you want to be a reporter for the Yankees, then go follow your heart! It will lead a happy future. Maybe you could major in something like journalism. You could be a sportwriter for Times or the Post. (I have no clue if journalism is even something you can major in.) That would be really cool though.) I agree with Georgie though. Follow you heart.

Everybody would tell me that i would be a grear baseball analyst or sports reporter since im really into Sports but i wasnt sure b/c im pretty shy, so i didnt if dat waz perfect for me, & CSI i wanted b/c i just luv science, but u dont earn much $$$$ so i decided to be a lawyer, but honestly dont worry sooo much about rite now, ur just a sophemore, u still have time tio think about it, & once u get to college, u dont have to decide yet, u could be undecided, so u will take different classes, & u might find one dat interest u, but u should follow ur dreams, what u luv b/c u dont want to spend da rest of ur life doing something u dont luv. U will feel more successful & happy doing something u luv, so if ur really are passionate about it, then go for it!!

I say go for your dream. You will never know if you would have made it if you never give it a try. I am homeschooled, and the hardest thing about that is the lack of sports. It is all I ever dreamed of to play Baseball but I never got the chance... It hurts like heck that I may never know if I was good enough to play pro ball.

Do what you want to do, don't let people on this site decide for you! Also, you don't have to make the decision right away, think about it more and decide next year so you can take the proper classes in 12th grade. I'm in 11th grade and I don't know what I want to do for my career yet. Good luck!
