I have a friend that is on her cycle now and was also taking drugs previously to get pregnant and just found out she is pregnant

yes you can get pregnant while on your period as a males sperm can live inside a woman for at least 5 days .so dont be fooled into thinking that you are safe to have sex while on your period.

You are fertile (ovulating) in about the third week after your period, the week before it starts. In that time, you usually get pregnant. If the ovulating days (usually one to three days) are on the late end of that week, and you have sex right before you get your period, maybe it's possible to get pregnant. But typically that doesn't happen.
Sometimes you will get your period even if you're pregnant. That happened to a friend of mine, and she has a healthy boy of two now!

It is possible to get pregnant on your period, but very rare. Bc the purpose of your period is to release the unfertilized egg :)
