It all depends on where you live. You may have a local newspaper or magazine that lists handymen. Check with your local Consumer Affairs agency to see if the person is licensed and that there are no complaints.
Sometimes you may find someone who is recommended by an employee at Loews or Home Depot. Do not have them install it because it is expensive.
You are buying the counter top and faucets someplace. Try there.
In any event wherever you find the person check for license , insurance and complaint record. You might call someone who he did work for. You need to be careful with that because he could give you the name of a relative or friend rather than a normal customer.

If a klutz like me can do it, you probably can, too. The new ones are quite easy to install. Otherwise, check out various plumbers who will do the job right.
Although I spend a lot of money at Lowes and Home Depot, I have been disappointed in their plumbing fixtures. My recommendation would be to spend more money at a reputable plumbing supply store. You are in the kitchen a lot and the faucet gets a lot of use. By the best one you can afford.

I don't know how bad your counter tops are but I have seen people put the sticky tacking paper over the counter tops and it looks just like a brand new counter top its amazing I don't think there is such a thing as a reasonable handyman not unless he is in your family
