There seems to be a fairly large contingent of people who call themselves "Christians" who believe that the best way to defeat fanatical Muslim terrorists is with fanatical Christian terrorists. I disagree. I do agree with those on the religious right that the Islamic faith will have to be dealt with somehow, but my money is on the agnostics and atheists to find a way to do it. Unfortunately, before they can address the Muslims they would have to address the Christians. I feel for moderate and liberal Christians, but the sad truth is that the Bible can be read as an endorsement for love, peace, tolerance and joy or (especially in the Old Testament and Revelations) as a call to arms, violence and intolerance, just like the Torah, Qr-an, and most other sacred texts. Thanks to religious warfare and other distractions almost no one is talking, or able to talk about global overpopulation or over-consumption of resources. E.O. Wilson, among other scientists wrote that if everyone on the planet tried to live like the average American, humans would need 4 to 5 more planets. Sobering when one considers the strong desires growing in China and India for better lifestyles for all their people. As long is God and Allah are duking it out for supremacy, we'll never get to the truly species threatening issues.

Terrorism has always existed. When terrorists are agrivated such as being on what they perceive as sacred land they tend to increase in number. We need to shore up our own borders and be alert. Getting out of Iraq is a first step.

Stop calling it "Islamic" terrorism.
Islam is not the problem, terrorism is!

Blaming terrorism on Islam is only making the problem worse. It's giving credence to jihad.
This war is NOT a holy war.
This war is about freedom, theirs and ours.

They have the potential to learn this just as you do.

Get out of this illegal war in Iraq, take our troops home and secure our borders. We should also stop our dependence on foreign oil by telling the morons at Green Peace and other enviro-terrorist groups to take a flying leap and drill and refine our own oil.
