I know it's a black hole... But, what are it's characteristics?

Super dense gravity well that sucks all matter and light into its giant yet non-existent depths where the gravitational forces break the bonds holding even electrons and protons together apart.

its not hole, its really the opposite. its a collapsed star. the center of it is called the singularity and it is a one dimensional point of infinite density and it is infinitely small. anything that crosses the event horizon is sucked into the singularity and depending on the size of the black hole it can be rapidly spun around and ripped apart then crushed, or stretched and then crushed.

They are always in the middle of a Galaxy and produce tremendous gravity. It is so big it can be 100 light years across.
