That is because playing with fire is a cliche that also means don't dabble in things you are taking a chance at getting hurt, not really burned by fire or such......double meaning. Then in our area there are safe zones where you do fireworks...??

For the parents who smoke, isn't it kinda hypocritical to say not to play with fire yet they always have a lighter with them for when they smoke?

my parents never gave us fireworks to hold, or touch. and we were never left unsupervised with them either. in fact, im 24, ive still never had any access to any big fireworks, especially not anything illegal, i enjoy the show that the city puts on much more than anything i would do myself.

My parents don't do that. They make sure I'm outside with fireworks, and I'm always under supervision.
