so I don't know much abot computers but I do know that I am running out of memory on my laptop. Everyday I have to go around deleting stuff just to keep it running properly. So my question is, what would I need memory wise to add to my computer to give it more space (I was thinking of an external harddrive but I may be wrong)? I don't want to have anyhting that is permenatly attached as I take it with me to school everyday. Thanks!

Uninstall programs you don't use.

Buy a USB hard drive (they're cheap now) and move songs / videos / pictures to it, but leave "documents" you will need at school on the laptop.

get ccleaner from www.ccleaner.com and run that to help get rid of temp files and stuff.

Hope that helps

You probably have a bunch of adware that has been installed by web sites and they are eating up your memory. (A hard drive has nothing to do with more memory). You can go here and download a FREE program that will help you get rid of the adware web sites have put on your computer.

Go here and click the GREEN button.

external hardrives would be your best option since it's a laptop and you don't want anything that's permenatly attached to it. you can get a pretty good price ex-hd online(newegg.com, tigerdirect.com etc) or at electronic stores (bestbuy, circus city, compusa etc). i would recommand western digital. they offer a wide range of capacity in ex-hd.

You probably need larger memory chips installed.
