I know you said you were open to all colors, but consider finding your right color first. There are websites devoted to this (like "color me beautiful" or do a search on colors and skin tone, etc.) as well as beauticians who are trained in helping you to find the correct colors for your skin tone, eye color and hair color. It may not seem like a big deal, but the right color can liven up your whole appearance and make you "come alive," whereas the wrong color can make you look like a corpse.
A trained beautician can also help you with a cut/neckline which will best highlight your unique facial shape and features...or you can do it by trial and error, like I did with my wedding gown. I tried on so many styles and necklines, that when I found the right one it just jumped out, I knew it. Bring along your mom, or a friend who will be critical and objective and will help you determine your best features, and which styles highlight those the most. Remember, you don't want the dress to wear you, you want to wear it!
You seem to have a nice figure so you could probably wear most styles successfully.
Most of all, what you feel comfortable and beautiful in, will be most important. Because then that will radiate outward. And the best accessory is a smile!
Have fun!

God bless ya, you made me feel like a dirty old man (I'm 36)
Queer eye for the straight guy coming out. - I'd go for something that made your legs look longer and came in at the hip some. You're not overly top heavy so stay away from plunging neck lines that focus eyes there. NO Big Poofie prom shoulders. An almost spaghetti strap dress just above the knee and slightly fitted at the waist - black with a simple pearl necklace and matching ear rings. Hair up that night and a pair of 3 inch black pumps so your legs look longer but you can still dance.

relies upon on your physique shape as properly. placed on severe waisted dresses and tight dresses above to knee, do no longer bypass everywhere close to dresses that touch your ankles etc. decide for the elementary colorings like black, gray or white. Black seems suitable on short human beings nevertheless. remember additionally to under no circumstances placed on shoes with a strap around the ankle, it makes you look very short.

if i send you a pix of a dress it won't be what you like ---- you have the figure to wear most anything off the rack (dress rack) and you pick what catches your eye and you will be much happier than wearing something that a stranger picked for you.. just be yourself and enjoy the prom.... sometimes a really nice cocktail dress is more stunning than a formal gown ............
