Oh indeed some of the contestants are clearly mentally unbalanced in some way. The judges laugh to make better viewing as that is what is important to them (nearly as important as finding talented singers). The mentally unbaslanced ones just shouldn't be shown on telly as it IS cruel, I agree with that so no, its not just you.

No, it's not just you as they can be very cruel and I agree that there is no need to wipe the floor with someone's feelings. The contestants do go through two other sets of judges first before they get to Simon and co and it is obvious they are picked because they are talentless to provide some sport for the cameras and ultimately the viewers.

yes sorry to say it is all down to ratings the harder the judges the better the ratings. It is hard on some contestants but when you and i look at it would we really watch it if all of them could sing i feel not so the directors show more than the average person who can not sing. This i know as i am good friends with one of the finalists from a couple of years ago.

In a word. particular. It has replace into stupid between Louis and Simon. Louis is likewise making some unusual comments and his judgement seems way off this 12 months. He pronounced Ruth Lorenzo replaced into in straight forward terms there by way of gown she replaced into wearing. hi? Did he have earplugs in or some thing? He thinks Daniel is extra useful than Ruth? the guy is mad. and due to Louis' tactical balloting final week to maintain Daniel on the practice Austen lost a place. it could have been Daniel - as quickly as extra - that replaced into voted off. Its a making a song contest - so why is Daniel nonetheless there hmmmm?

Its to make good telly. The contestants have to perform to the producers first, they decide if they go to audition before the judges. So they put all the no hopers through on purpose to amuse the viewers. All that rubbish about Simon wondering when the next good one comes on they know already. I still love it though

Speaking as a professional musician I can assure you that 99.9% of the alleged singers that go before that panel are utter rubbish. They have been misled by both family and friends - some for many years - into thinking that they can sing when they patently can NOT! It is therefore perfectly acceptable for the panel members to laugh at some of them because otherwise they'd go mad with frustration at having to listen to such outrageous rubbish for so many times a day ! ! !

It is wrong, but we humans take pleasure in watching others make fools of themselves.
This dates back centuries where people used to pay to watch the antics of people in asylums.
And everyone who enters the X Factor knows they are setting themselves up for humiliation, so they shouldn't complain when they get ridiculed. You can count on one hand the amount of people who've forged real careers via shows such as Pop Idol and X Factor.
Look at Michelle McManus, Steve Brookstein, Hearsay.
None of them are taken seriously as recording artists. Even the successful ones such as Girls Aloud, they are controlled by their record companies and aren't real musicians, just karaoke singers who churn out bad copies of real artists songs.

I think its disgusting when they start to judge their looks, I think its awful and not right at all.. if they are not right for the part they should just say 'Your not right for the part sorry' but then again if it was that simple, they wouldn't have a high rating show... ridicule for money and viewers, thats how low tv has gone.

This series seems to be showing more of those who appear to have some sort of problem. I am finding it more and more difficult to watch the judges behave the way they do. They range from patronising to downright nasty.
