Trigger was the reason that I have gone through life working to keep the most expensive of animals - HORSES!
I would be a rich woman today if I hadn't been fed a wholesome diet of RR and Trigger as a child!
Never yet trained any of mine to walk up stairs in the house though!!

yes..(meekly). They had a day of Roy Rogers movies on TCM. This time I passed on them.
I liked to go to what was called " The Kiddie Matinee" way back when. I loved Roy and Dale. Then went to Hop-along Cassidy.
What fun memories. We were all a little naive back then. Plus, my favorite, The Lone Ranger.
Happy trails to you, until we meet again.. Happy trails to you, keep smiling until then.
Dale did a good job of writing the book "Angel Unaware."
Oh, I am so dumb. You are talking about the group called "Sons of the Pioneers." Didn't read the question correctly.

Oh yes, met him and "The Sons of the Pioneers" In the Boston Gardens. My uncle was an usher there so got to go back stage. Needless to say from there on Roy was my big hero.

Nope, not that one....used to love Roy Rogers movies when I was a kid, but the Happy Trails bit seems to be more associated with the old TV show, and that one was too much for me to take..."clarabell the jeep???" was too unWestern for me....I just could not really make that show work in my head.

every darn time it was on. My brother and I used to go to the movies every Sat morn (no TV) and they always had on a western movie, cartoons and a serial. when we got a TV to see the Queens coronation in 1952 we were extatic when Roy and Dale got their own show . Remember Nellybelly in the later episodes?

Guilty as charged.
Only, when I broke out into song,
the rest of the movie house choked
on their popcorn.
This is a little known fact, but I'm the guy
who replaced Elvis, driving the truck.

I sing it at my local minor league ballpark everytime a visiting team's pitcher is relieved. They play it over the PA system to the delight of the fans.

Of course!
I really loved their horse, I wanted one too but my parents objected to having a horse in an apartment in Chicago, particularly on the 32nd floor....
