My printer won't turn on. I tried everything I could think of to fix it. Nothing was unplugged, there's paper in it, there's ink, but it won't print anything! The light on the printer button won't turn on, so I thought the printer itself might still work, but it's not.

I REALLY need help! This could be a problem because I'm still in school and I will definitley need to print out papers at home.
Please help!!!

P.S. The printer is an HP Deskjet 5440

Try unplugging it from the mains and leaving it unplugged for at least a minute, then plugging it in again. Then go to Control Panel>Printers and selecting your printer and doing a test print. I doubt if the fuse in the plug has blown but it's worth a check.

Was the power off recently to the house? Try unplugging it from the wall, and plugging it back in. I don't know why stuff does that (my old monitor and new HP Printer do), but its like after an outage you have to reset the power or something.

You have look at the back of the printer and switch it off then back on. I think this will turn it back on. Plus see if it works plugged somewhere else. Maybe the power isn't good.
