the guy has been Superman to hes strong 51 hr and over 130 rbi and over 130 runs scored and over sb 20 and an ba over 300 i haerd on baseball tonight that hes hte only baseball player in mlb history to hit 50 hr and score 130 runs and have rbi 130 and steal 20 . The man suprises me this year has been magical all the crap he had to endure last year i felt bad for him and the boos from the fans i got mad at him but had to much respect to boo the man. He has been alleged with steroids scandal and other crap , but every player in this era of baseball will because its the steroid era. Many people think he took something but without evidence i wont belive anything , plus hes been consistent all his career . The man he has been blessed by god with the talent he has .
I just Hope that this year hes dream can come true to be a ws champion that would be the cherry on top to Alex career the future Hof

The guy is unbelievable. It is astonishing how good of a season he is having. You said it: 50+ HRs, 130+ RBIs, 130+ runs scored, 20+ SB, .300+ BA. There is absolutely no question as to whether he will win the MVP. Without him, I don't know where my beloved Yankees would be. He will pass Barry Bonds on the alltime HR list at some time, and he's doing it without the juice. Absolutely astonishing. Whenever I see him play, I am struck by how amazingly calm and relaxed he looks. He is one of the only players ever to hit 50 HRs in 3 seasons, along with Babe Ruth, Mark McGuire, and Sammy Sosa. Next year he will get 60+ HRs.

I definitely have to agree with A-Rod winning the MVP. I like the Runs Produced stat which isn't used too often. (R+RBI-HR) Tells how many of the teams runs they either drove in or scored, subtracting homers so that the run isn't counted twice. And essentially, stolen bases and high batting average lead to more runs and RBIs. With this formula here are my top 5 players, all playing on winning teams with at least playoff possibilities.
Alex Rodriguez-217 Runs Produced
Magglio Ordonez-202
Bobby Abreu-183
Vladimir Guerrero-177
David Ortiz-171
(Stats through Sept. 8, 2007)

Yeah, but that's only his 50th home run as an MVP candidate. Alex has hit two while playing DH, and everyone knows the DH is not a Real Player™.
Still probably win MVP though.
----------
Worth noting that Rodriguez leads -- decisively -- in some of the interesting stats, including Runs Created and Win Shares. Not that this is at all surprising, but it does further reinforce his eminent standing for the AL MVP.
Sportswriters continue to talk up Ordonez as a strong candidate because (a) it is somewhat true, (b) they need SOME sort of drama -- ARod simply running away with it makes for dull columns, and they have inches to fill, and (c) some of them really are dumb enough to believe it, and let's hope they don't get selected as electors this year.

Hes going to have yet another amazing year, yet as much as now as MVP is going im no longer so helpful. the only reason he didnt get MVP interior the years he didnt improve into via fact different adult males had profession years, and it could ensue next year with somebody like miguel cabrera, morneau or mauer ( no longer guarentee that they are going to ) yet it fairly is how baseball is. yet from arod assume .3 hundred BA 40 HR and a hundred and twenty RBI

As much as I dislike the yankees, and would love for Mags to get MVP....a REAL baseball fan cannot overlook the season Mr. Rodriguez is having.
Mr April should win the MVP hands down.

Oh, how sweet, you used his entire name. He has been blessed by God and you want his World Series dreams to come true...how touching. Maybe that is consolation to his wife while he sleeps with beautiful women in every road city...You people throw around the term "respect" too loosely.

I read your statement. I decided to take a different viewpoint. I was going to show you 10 reasons why AROD is not the MVP in the American League. I was ready to tell you to go to hell, but there is NO WAY I can do it.
If AROD is not named the MVP for this season, then you know that the fix is in......
