though many assume she would back Hillary (i guess because they're women, goes to show how sexist society is) Oprah has said several times she backs Barak Obama, and in fact is even throwing him a benefit soon to raise money for his campaign.
I think she can affect the vote by providing a platform of support and a medium at which his ideas for this country can be heard, but I still see her as a journalist, presenting information. It's still up to us to decide who we want.
Obama in '08!
EDIT: LOL how'd I know ppl would attribute her to the racist thing. yikes I can't believe we still actually think about race in this country. Anyway from what I understand of it, she backs Obama because of their like-minded thinking in foreign affairs and humanitarian efforts. Personally I think he would be the best candidate to repair the mess Bush made of our relationship with the rest of the world, and specifically the UN.

"likelihood is that if Hillary wins, INSANLY tremendous numbers of blacks won't vote for Hillary in November." fake. at first, insanely tremendous numbers of persons do no longer vote, era. Of probably voters, there prolly isn't a extensive drop in turnout between blacks. they're devoted democrats. Hill is a Clinton. this could be a no-brainer. Even Gore have been given the black vote conveniently--it would take a particularly presumptive smear to surrender Hillary from getting the first therapy from blacks and since the Obama might proceed to assist the social gathering, I do exactly no longer see this problem occurring.

Oprah is considered by many to be a molder of public opinion, so she could cause a lot of her audience to support Obama. However, whether she will affect the female vote and the black vote as a whole is uncertain.

She has the influence and money to make her opinion known and many view her as an intelligent, thoughtful person, so yes, she could effect the vote of many people.

Perhaps, but who she favours is not going to decide who will be the next president. Not everyone in the world likes her or cares about her opinions, so her parties and gala events are just fund raisers for who she favours, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't make a difference.

i sincerely think this is stupid but, she might. it makes me wonder why anyone votes. if we're all just going to vote a certain way because oprah says so, why don't we all save ourselves the trouble and just let oprah choose the next president. people need to educate themselves and form their own opinions.

For an uninteresting subject, I'm sure she's up to her armpits trying to figure which to back. Being both a sexist and a racist, she must be terribly torn.

She will if she can. Isn't it interesting that of all the possible candidates, she chooses to get behind Barack Hussein Obama. That couldn't be because he is black could it? She couldn't be racist could she? is it just a coincidence?
