I should have said Autumn in the UK.

Here in Arkansas, we are just beginning to go into Autumn. Thanks for capitalizing that.

I had a pleasant summer. I enjoyed caring for my plants and birds. I had the good pleasure of watering and caring for three of my neighbors who were unable to do for themselves. I also was fortunate to have been given the opportunity to dog sit for a weekend. Then August came. Too hot to stay out too long. I developed a small area on my cheek and when dermatologist biopsied the area, it was a basal cell carcinoma. I go Monday to have it completely excised. Still, it was worth staying in the sun and helping my elderly (very elderly) neighbors.

Yes, looking back, I had a good Summer.

Hi Roxy,

It is almost (about 2 weeks) Autumn here too! I had a pretty great summer. I only went to Florida in April. I wanted to go to the shore but, alas, didn't make it.

Maybe I can take a short Autumn trip somewhere. Hope your summer was as grand as mine.

Where I live summer kind of lingers on into October. For Thanksgiving we often have the windows open and the fans going.

But, to the thrust of your question, yes, this has been a good summer so far. We've had more rain this summer than I've seen since I was a child. Everything looks green and spring-like. Usually, by this time of the year all green things hereabouts are beat down, done-in and brown. But not this year. We can mark this one down as a good one.

Autumn has always been my favourite season for as long as I can remember. I love all seasons but Autumn ... I am 56 so I suppose I qualify as a senior? All summer I have been working, in a home for really elderly people with Alzheimers, but on 3 September I started another job in a nursing home for elderly people, caring for them, washing them, feeding them, talking to them, etc. I have a sort of controversial question to ask. A lot of carers at the home are foreign (Polish, African, etc) and a senior friend said to me yesterday, 'Is this what we have to look forward to?' (ie people whose first language is not English).

Not sure if you mean as in life stage or time of year so...Yes, I had a lovely summer, went to Canada to see my son and then went touring around Scotland and the north of England. I am looking forward to autumn just so that I can practice more on my new motorbike.

I had an OK Summer, but it went by so quickly.

I love Autumn--my favorite Season. Weather in Chicago area is a little cooler this week. Can't wait until the leaves change into their glorious colors.

Autumn of my Life? Hell no I haven't started yet! Still lots to do and all next summer to do it in, and with Spring in my step I will sleep all through winter ( which drawer are the long Johns in love? I feel a bit stiff this morning. Bloody season of mists and mellow frightfulness)

I'm assuming you mean the Autumn of our lives. These youngsters just don't get it. For me, autumn is invigorating. I don't feel like I've lost anything. Every season has its beauty. I'm not waiting to die. I'm grabbing every minute as fully as I can. Seniors have it made 'cause we don't care what anyone else thinks and are free to do as we please. Just because we've gathered many years doesn't mean our vitality is done. I say, go for it!
