I mean, she's a psychologist, right? She could tell if I'm serious or not. I'm such a comedian may be she'll say I'm just pulling her leg? Or, should I just quote "Love means never having to say I'm sorry"?

You should dramatically kneel before her, take her right hand in yours, and say in a very sonorous voice "I'm really and truly sorry !".
...If your psychologist quips that you are 'just pulling her leg', counter it by very seriously saying "Oh, but I thought I had just pulled your hand !"
...She'll burst out laughing. And all will be forgiven !

Yea, you're such a comedian that you deserve to have a good laugh. Just say, 'I'm sorry that you don't have a sense of humor when I'm trying so hard to be a jester.' <*-*>

Maybe she couldn’t tell if you’re coming or going.

But just same, be sincere, my friend. Also be mindful of making unnecessary apologies, i.e., when none is needed – that will cheapen the apologies you have made in the past, as well as those you will make in the future.

A simple sorry is enough..if you're sincere then there's no way she won't believe you. She's a psychologist right? so i think she will sense your sincerity.

The same way you apologize to anyone else - heartfelt! And yes, dear heart, we're good. No apologies necessary.

If you are seeing her professionally, don't even think about getting romantic. She could lose her license to practice if she gets involved with you.
