The two are different in many ways.
Verizon Cards can tie to verzions web service and work anywhere verizon works so they are wide area wireless and are indeed a service.

Linksys cards are simply wifi cards and have to be near a Hot Spot or your own wireless router to work thus have limited wireless ability if you are "mobile".

Both work, just depends on what you need. If you are in you home and want wireless, Linksys connected to your local router connected to DSL or cable is great. Its cheap and there are no monthly fees other than the dsl or cable.
Verizon cards connected to the verizon system work great but do take a subscription which is usually 50-70/month. But it is truly mobile.

Hope that helps.

i'm uncertain... yet i do no longer think of so. i might circulate on line & discover the information for the wrt54g2 linksys router, & circulate to their FAQ internet site. If the respond isn't there, attempt calling tech help at Verizon. solid success, which i could desire to have been extra help.
