The Bugatti Veyron may no longer be the world's fastest car. Today — following a number of teasers and leaks — Barabus officially unveiled the TKR: a new 1005 horsepower supercar the automaker says is capable of doing zero to 60 mph in 1.67 seconds. What's more, the car reportedly has a top speed of 270 mph — nearly 20 more than the Veyron. Power comes from a 6.0 liter V8 twin-turbocharged with dual intercoolers. The car has a full carbon fibre body and chassis. Further details remain sparse, but the automaker says it will sell the car for £360,000, which should translate to around $500,000, using typical automotive market conversion rates

Your question is soooo vague - define 'fastest' please. Top-speed, acceleration, fastest-lap of a given track, fastest 1/4 mile drag-strip performance? Standard, modified, racing, or purpose-built one-off to break a given record? Not enough information there, sorry. Oh, and though the Ariel Atom with the V8 engine is geared to pull 'only' about 175mph, it will out-accelerate and out-corner and out-brake virtually everything out there whilst doing so. AND the ridiculous Veyron is beset with the problem of RAMPANT fuel-consumption, because of it's LUDICROUS weight. It has been detailed that the fuel-tanks empty in under 12 minutes when the car is being driven fast - so after just some 50 miles or so, you would have to pull in to a conveniently-placed petrol station, exit the car, pump 140 litres of fuel, pay for it, get back into the car, accelerate back up to speed, and 12 minutes later, do that all again! Meanwhile, something as mundane as a slippery Audi with a turbo-diesel engine can maintain a much higher AVERAGE speed, pulling a few hundred miles of range from its' tank. Tortoise and the Hare fable, all over again. Veyrons are ugly, fat, heavy, and they suck. And an Ultima GTR is WAY quicker around the Top-Gear test-track.

The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is the Current Fastest Car in the World and it'll hit 60 in 2.5 seconds not 3 Seconds and with a proven Top Speed of 253 mph, Where as the Current Porduction Car 1/4 mile Time Record Holder is the Koenigsegg CCR, CCX & CCXR in 9.9 seconds, Fastest Road Legal Non Production Car Record is I think Held by Gambella for there Carrera GT Conversion called the Mirage GT even with 645 bhp it has a Proven Top Speed of 255 mph and still SSC Aero havent been able to take there Mirical Bullet Car to 273 mph I have a Doubt that they won't.
And now talking about the Barabus yes its called Barabus not Brabus From Mercedes Benz, The Barabus TKR claims that it'll hit 60 mph in 1.67 seconds and has a Top Speed of 270 mph and if anybody has had a Look at the Actual Car than they'll notice how Small and Light Weight it is and i think for a car to get to such High Speeds requires a Sustantial amount of weight on it which from my conclusions is not Present on the TKR because if it were that Heavy to take it to 270 mph than it'd not be able to hit 60 in that kinda time, so you see there has to be a Very Balanced Car in order to Reach this kinda Performance and which the Barabus TKR is not.
And no matter if the Barabus TKR beats the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 will still be the Ultimate Experssion because the Barabus TKR is not even Slightely as Practicle or Good Looking an the Bugatti Veyron 16.4, Infact it looks hidious Honestly Gimme a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Over the Barabus Dreamer anyday, I know the Bugatti Veyron is Twice as Expensive as the Barabus TKR but if anyone can afford a TKR than he/she mostly he I am not bieng a Sexist here can Afford a Bugatti Veyron 16.4.
Anyways the new Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Sports is Coming out to Regain the Crown (that is if its Defeated) anywhere in Middish or End 2008 and will have the Same Breath Taking Quad Turbo Charged W16 but this Time Boosting 1200 bhp and I am thinking Top Speed's From 270 to 285 mph and will beat any Porduction and i hope it Does cos I don wanna see a Car Made of Plastic take over a true Master Piece.
Anyways I think the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 didnt get the fame and Fortune as the still very Mighty McLaren F1 did in its days, I mean with Every other Sportscar Manufacturer Trying to Stab Bugatti in the Back.
I hope the Best for Bugatti and Hope no car would Beat it for a Long LONG time!!!.
And Lastly I wannit everybody to know the Actual Price of that Car is about 1,000,000.00 British Pounds and who'd like to know the Acutal Price of making a Bugatti Veyron 16.4, its 5,000,000.00 British Pounds that means a Loss of 4,000,000.00 British Pounds on Each car so you can see how advance that car is and How much research has Been Performed on the car, I know alot of People say that Volkswagen has that W16 since 1989 and they are Right except that the W16 was actually a W12 in which 4 extra Cylinders were added Which was to be Fitted in the Audi Avus Concept as a W12 in 1991 and than Fitted in the Audi Rosyenmyer Supersportwagen in 1993 and when Volkswagen bought Bently they made a concept Bently Supercar Which that Featured the W16 engine and Claimed 1000 bhp by Volkswagen but anyways the Car was Dropped in 1998 because Volkswagen had Jus bought Bugatti and wannit to bring Back the Bugatti Brand with a Master Piece the Bugatti Veyron 16.4.
So you see its not that Easy making a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 and I am not saying that its easy making a barabus TKR of SSC Ultimate Aero but I think they'll never be able to live up to there Cliams to be a Faster Better Car then the Bugatti Veyron 16.4, and I hope they Never do!!!.

the new Bugatti Veyron, being shown in North America for the first time at the LA Auto Show, as the one of the most powerful cars ever. With 16 cylinders, 64 valves and four turbochargers producing 987 hp, the Veyron is said to surpass 250 mph. A power gauge on the instrument panel tells the driver how much horsepower is being used. While it can’t use more than 987 horsepower it can hit 0-60 in under 3 seconds. Only 300 Veyrons will be built for about $1.2 million each.

If you mean street legal car that you could buy. It is the Bugatti Veyron made by Volkswagon. The Bugatti gos up to 257mph, but is electronically limited to 253mph(407kph) because the tires can not handle the extra 4mph. It goes from 0-60 in 2.4 seconds.
The seconds fastest street legal car is the koenigsegg ccr that goes up to 249mph.

The twin turbo-fan powered Land Speed Record holder is called ThrustSSC and went 763.035 mph over a timed mile course (Black Rock Desert, USA) on September 25, 1997 and was driven by Andy Green. (It is the first LSR car to break the Sound Barrier - Mach 1.016). Hope this helps. Good luck!
