yes!!!but it's not fooling,it's reality!!
look around you babe!!there are people in countries who are dying of hunger!
there are people who are afraid to go outside cause there is a war going on!!
there are people dying of cancer!
there are people who have to beg to survive!
are your problems so bad as those?
start being thankful for what you have!!start thinking what good things you have!!
be happy cause you're alive!
be happy cause you have food to eat!
be happy cause you have a house to live in!!
be happy cause you have your health!!
anything else is not so bad anymore,is it?

don't you think that you are happier than those people?
hope i made you think what to be happy about!!:):)

you have to develop an unshakable inner peace so that way outside circumstances do not affect your state of being

read books by the Dalai Lima or Thich Nhat Hanh on how to be happy no matter what

Trust me, it works

and find God..
even as a Buddhist I feel much more whole with the belief as Jesus Christ being my savior and there for me.

This may seem to require a lot of effort to read a book, but trust me it will help.
It's much better than "fooling yourself" because you will be happier that way. Trust me, take the time to read it it will change your life like it did help change mine.

But if you want to go and just fool yourself while still being depressed, that is your choice. I think a good book that will change your way of seeing things if much better and productive and thus can help you in later times where you need this kind of advice.

Be grateful for what you have. Be thankful that you are breathing, for everything, for your friends, the fact that fate brought you to meet them. What are the chances of you meeting such great people in your life?
Or if that is the problem, think of how you can meet new people in your life and how you DO have a whole life ahead of you.
Every depressing situation is only temporary, this too shall pass.

No...that would be impossible, I know because I tried doing that years ago and ended up living a lie for a very long time.
I had to make a lot of difficult choices to find out who I really was and what I really wanted, I now have that voice and vow to never lose it.

Work on what you need to make yourself happy...the good stuff will find you when you're ready, sometimes it's just being able to look at something in a different light.

Your mind can play games with you if you let it
The secret is to stay on an even plane ,with realistic expectations and it can carry you quite a bit
If we expect too much in an unrealistic manner
If you are unwilling to face the truth about your feelings and reality
If you don't want to come to the realization that may be something better for you than the path you are on
Then you can try to fool and convince yourself and to miss the forest despite of the trees.

People do it all the time. It's frequently easier than admitting you need to make a change in your life. Well, it's easier for a while... ultimately you'd be better off admitting you've got a problem and addressing it so you can find a way to truly be happy.

Not really. Nothing can fool you into thinking you're happy.

yes, its possible to fool yourself into believing anything. just keep telling yourself, and you'll believe it. any deny that youre not happy.... this is no good for your psychological state, but whatever makes your conscious mind feel better today.

you can fool some of the people, some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. i guess this wise old saying could apply to one's self.

Yes it is, you want to feel happy for someone else's sake, but you truly know that you are really not happy.
