Good evening, they may be putting out misinformation or bad intelligence to throw off the to the opposition, The only truthful info comes from disloyal agents or spy's , The government is a lot closer to national broadcasting and cable and radio, they have people in all of broad casting in most national offices they have sensors, FBI , Secret Service we do have that 7 second delay , in commercials & tv ,they send messages , woops ! , I don't think I will get in trouble.

This isn't going to sound humane but think of war like a chess game, you do not want your oponent to know your most important strategy (winning moves) so you bluff them. If they take your bluff then your next move is able to remove their pawn, their bishop, and perhaps their knight.
The government is more interested in keeping a war going and less interested in the injured and/or fallen. Remember that the soldiers are sort of like the pawns on the chess board. Sad but true.
There are some extremely intelligent people making these decisions even if we might think their decisions are based on corruption of thought and mere greed.

Don't assume for a moment that information is accurate or up to date. During the gulf war, many people commented that the media were reporting exactly where troops and armour were building up, and where they were to be deployed. Turns out that HMG were feeding exactly what they wanted the Iraqis to hear. Worked, too!

HI CHUCKLER,BLOODY GOOD QUESTION(STARRED)
the British and American governments both are guilty of announcing xxno of troops are being sent to a certain place or province at a certain time, why? all they are doing is giving terrorist a chance to move or reinforce in those areas and therefor making it more difficult for the troops that are being sent to these areas, time they got they re act together

The government often allows certain information to be released. Said information is generally misleading to our enemies.

I totally agree. And not only that, but they also give terrorists (US and foreign) ideas as to our most vulnerable targets and how to usurp the protections we do have. I hope it's not for the reason that I am thinking of................I can't say it or I would be declared unpatriotic and get a violation.
