seriously do you play it real or do you build hotels whenever you want to and steal the free parking money?

I've always played by the rules simply because if I didin't neither would the people I play with and that would end up in everyone fighting and the game not be any fun.

The rules. Free parking can have money only if the rules say so. Yes, the rules say you can build houses and hotels whenever you want. Thieves have their arms cut off.

I like to play by the rules and there is NO free parking money in the rules you do not get paid to park.
