The Allied forces consisted of the following combatant nations

USA
United Kingdom and the British Empire
(This included the Dominions of Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa)
USSR
France and the French Empire
China (Nationalist and Communist)
The Netherlands and Empire
Belgium and Empire
Luxembourg
Norway
Denmark
Poland
Brazil
Yugoslavia
Greece
Albania (Invaded in early 1939 but never surrendered to the Italians)
Ethiopia (Invaded in 1936 but never surrendered)

In 1945 a lot of countries declared war on the Axis powers in march and April as the United Nations was being formed and one of the founding stipulations of entry at the early stage was a declaration against Germany and or Japan.

Italy joined the Allies as a Co-Combatnat nation as it was split into two areas the Fascist dominated North and the Conquered South and contributed its remaining forces and fleet to help the Allies.
Finland, Bulgaria and Rumania also switched camps from the Axis to Allies once there counries where being overrun and forces almost destroyed and they had no fear of reprisals from the German SS forces.
Some countries like Portugal, Iceland, and some of the Latin American States allowed Allied forces to use their territory as a base of operations in clear contrevention of the Hague Convention by not demanding the interment or removal of the forces on Neutral soil, but never declared war until later in 1945 (The Axis powers had the same benefit as well from certain countries)

I hope this all helps.

the U.S , Canada, Austrailia , South Africa, Rhodesia, India

France was half on the side of Germany Vichy France - and the other was under occupation. Never forget that - half the french helped the nazis - they should never hold their heads high about the war. England had many allies because of the commonwealth - volunteers flocked from Canada - Austrailia - New Zealand Rhodesia and South Africa. Russia was an ally of Britain too after being invaded by Germany in 41 - before 41 russia had been an ally of germany as is clear when russia invaded poland from the east as germany invaded them from the west in 1939 . Anything you want to know on history I will know - anytime - I will teach it at the univesity level eventually when I get all those courses done for that

Surely the four powers that shared out Germany and Berlin after peace broke out.

Ergo: USA, USSR, Britain, and France.

Other countries supported the "allies", of course, not least those who were occupied by Germany during the war, but they are not usually titled "allies".

Within the ranks of the Allied powers, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom were known as "The Big Three." U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt referred to the Big Three and China as the "Four Policemen". France, before its defeat in 1940 and after its liberation in 1944, was also considered a major Ally.

This is a good link for downloading Axis and Allies for free: http://bit.ly/1BDxkPc

it's completely free and it's very fast to install
You can pick to be either the Allied powers of Britain, Russia, and America, or instead opt to play as the Axis powers of Germany and Japan. Either way, this is a worldwide conflict where you'll have to learn to play strategically across two fronts, no matter who you’re playing as.
It's a great game.

United States, USSR, Canada, France, Poland, Australia and New Zealand, India.

France and Poland were both occupied by Germany early on, so they didn't contribute much to the victory. Although there was a Polish Parachute unit that was top notch. I think Australia, New Zealand and India were all still part of the British Empire, but they still jumped in willingly and bravely.
