Have you been under stress or do you live with a girl who also doesn't have a period? Lots of things can effect your period. When I moved from home into a dorm I didn't have my period for a year. I don't know if it was from the change of living, or if it was becuase I lived with an athlete who never had a period. Funny how your bodies adapt towards each others habits.

What you have the doctors call is amenohhrea or absence of a menses. If you are younger your period can do this because the hormones sometimes arent adjusted properly. If you are older you may want to see your doctor because they can monitor you and find out what is going on with your hormones. If you do not eat right or exercise too much this can also cause this problem.

It's either that you're stressed out with life or that your menstrual periods are now getting irregular as it's now every three months instead of every month.

Just go to the gynecologist so they can ease your mind. We can't diagnose you over the internet. Stress, excessive exercising, losing weight and being thin, going thru hormonal changes can all cause these things to happen.

so, your cycle is irregular, you don't mention your age, but this is not uncommon in adolescent girls.
