I love my dishwasher. Run it only when full, empty it when it's done so I can reload with dirty stuff as the day goes on.
when my kids were small it was a real timesaver. I didn't feel so tired after cleaning up after dinner. Gave me more time to read and play with the kids in the evenings.
An added bonus was that we caught fewer colds and stomach bugs once I got the dishwasher. (Maybe that just means I was a lousy dishwasher myself though, LOL)

my roommate has a dish machine
i don't use it because i think it's useless

i have one and we use it,but it takes a while to get one of the kids to unload it
